Supporting learning disabled or autistic dance artists to explore, create and progress within dance.
Talent Development North (TDN) supports disabled dance artists across the North of England with a focus on those who are learning disabled or autistic (18+). Led by TIN Arts in partnership with Yorkshire Dance and Cheshire Dance, TDN seeks to enable disabled dance artists to create exciting new work whilst gaining industry insight to build connections and explore professional pathways within the dance sector.
Currently, TIN Arts are supporting Dance Artist, George Williams, on his latest research and development project, Chance.
TDN is part of a wider movement aimed at increasing visibility for disabled dance artists and making the dance sector more inclusive.
Throughout this peer-to-peer programme of enquiry, organisations and artists work collectively to identify, develop and embed working practices that enable professional learning disabled or autistic dance artists to create and make great art, changing perceptions and inspiring others.
By 2027 as a direct result of the programme, at least 4 new artworks will be created leading to 10 public performances. We expect that quality and significance of the created work will further shift the public’s perceptions and attitudes with regards to disabled dance artists.
