Leading the way in Inclusive Dance

The Emerging Young Dancers Programme will provide regular technique training and creative development opportunities for talented young dancers (11-18yrs) with a learning disability, autism and/or additional needs from across the North East of England.

Supported by The Ballinger Trust, The EYD Programme is focused on the North East of England and puts in place support and opportunities for young dancers to discover and explore more about their talent and potential.

As part of a broader initiative around talent development, The Emerging Young Dancers Programme (EYD) is one element of an ambitious ‘Talent Hub’ currently in development by TIN Arts which aims to support the professional development of talented dancers with a learning disability, autism and/or additional needs, potentially across the UK.  This is ‘The Talent Hub’.

For the EYD Programme we will work with cohorts of young people recruited on an annual basis from across the North East of England. How many we recruit will depend on the level of talent we discover. With the funding to the run the programme secured for three years, there will be no ‘set limit’ for how long a young person can remain a member of the programme.

The programme will run throughout the year and will be a mix of regular activities and intensive periods of working. The group will perform on a regular basis regionally and where possible nationally through partner organisations.
