Interested in learning more about developing your arts practice for people with a learning disability?
As part of a new programme of inclusive arts and culture activities supported by Stockton Borough Council, ARC are offering arts practitioners the opportunity to discover and learn more about the delivery of participatory arts activities for vulnerable adults.
Throughout February and March, ARC are coordinating a series of open workshops for people with a learning disability facilitated by lead practitioners with many years experience of delivering this type of work.
We are opening up these workshops to artists and practitioners of all disciplines so that best practice can be shared in the hope that more artists and practitioners become interested in delivering this type of work.
The workshops are as follows:

Any artist from any artform is invited to attend as many of the workshops listed above as they wish. The only requirement is that you are willing to participate within the workshop to discourage any passive observation.
To make the most of the opportunity, we are asking artists / practitioners interested in attending to come for 12.30pm to meet the lead practitioner before the workshop to gain a short insight into the aspirations and expectations planned for the activity to come. Also there will be an opportunity post-workshop at 2.30pm to sit and have some time to reflect with the lead practitioner on how the activity went.
This is a FREE opportunity. The only thing it will cost you is your time. If you are interested in attending, please do let us know beforehand. Contact Jenni Owen at ARC (jenni.owen@arconline.co.uk) to reserve your place and also get in touch if you have any questions.
